Piping System

A Piping system is used to supply the desired amount of fluid to a specific location. A Piping system is composed of equipment's, Pipes, and Piping fitting connections. Equipment's and Pipes all together control the temperature, pressure and flow rate of the fluid passing through the pipes. To create a Piping system, you need to know the vertical heads, pressure, temperature, and flow rate of the fluid.

HVAC system in a building

An HVAC system is used for maintaining desired environmental conditions in a specific area. It is composed of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. To create an HVAC system, you need to know the heating load of the desired area by using thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles. These load settings are used to determine the capacity of equipment to be added for HVAC. AutoCAD MEP has all the necessary tools to calculate all the heating loads and design the complete HVAC system for a building.

Project Browser in AutoCAD MEP

In AutoCAD MEP, Project Browser is used to manage different project files of a project. It contains the record of all drawing files related to the project. For example, in case of building project, the project browser keep the record of all drawing files related to different categories such as piping, electrical, ground floor, and first floor.

Introduction to AutoCAD MEP

AutoCAD MEP is based on AutoCAD platform and is used to design, draft, and document electrical, mechanical, and piping system of buildings. The first step to create a system in AutoCAD MEP is creating a project. Thereafter drawings can be added to the project created to represent various components of the building like electrical system, ducts, and so on. All the drawings added in a project are need to be arranged according to the workflow of the project.
